BYU-Hawaii Homepage Redesign

Creative Portfolio, Featured on January 21st, 2010 Comments

Over the last 9 months, I have been working as a part of our university’s web team. We have just rolled out a new design/structure of our website. This project was way overdue, and we’ve had to work through some difficult challenges, but we have created a great product.

My “title” in this project was “project manager”. I was involved in the conception, planning, and marketing of the site. I also created the design for the page. Randy, our graphic designer, then modified the design and really made it shine! Here are some of the rapid prototypes that I created. You can probably tell which one was used for the final design!

Here is the post I created in June about this project:

I am currently part of a team at work tasked with redesigning our university’s website.  We are currently in the design phase, and I created several drafts.  One of my designs was selected to be used as the school’s homepage.  This is very exciting for me to have one of my designs selected to be the web-face of the university I attend.

The selected design is the first in the gallery.

The page will have some pretty cool features.  We are picturing using 3 column drop down menus.  The main header will have images that change depending on the task link you hover over.  It will also have news feeds and calendar feeds on the home page, which will be very nice!  We also are going to have a toolbar featuring all of our common login pages.  Convenience is the name of the game for this page!
